UKIP Select Youth Wing Regional Chairman to contest Sedgefield

John Leathley, Regional Chairman of Young Independence for the North East has been selected as the UKIP parliamentary candidate for Sedgefield.

John said, “For more than half a decade the North East has been a one party state where Labour have dominated almost unchallenged. I once trusted Labour and Tony Blair to secure our futures. They have failed to do so massively.

I chose to stand in Sedgefield because it was largely Blair’s Labour who failed us from 1997 to 2010 and there was no better place to stand up for the people that have been let down than in the once Ex-Prime Ministers seat. UKIP are the only party that can beat Labour in the north and we have already started to do so across many counties at local level.

How many people can say years of Labour has made their lives and communities any better? How many agree that an identity they once knew is slowly drifting away? I believe the people should always be the heart of any community and rightly given the choice to make decisions based on their beliefs. Direct democracy seems to have been lost and it is my job to give the people in the Sedgefield constituency it back.

Only UKIP can take on Labour and beat them so let’s go out and do it!
